The mall’s current appearance is a combination of the store’s traditional elements and modern alterations that were part of the refurbishment and expansion that took place in 1994. Renowned the city over as a retail hub and an entertainment centre, the Tianjin Department Store now occupies an area of 36,000m2 with 9 floors full of fine consumer ware.

Enjoying sales figures of up to 130 million Yuan each month, the mall draws in crowds of nearly 200,000 daily, increasing up to 300,000 shoppers during public holidays. Fitted with a state-of-the-art electronic screen, a television monitoring system and a massive music fountain that is controlled by sound, the venue also offers 16 auto staircases and two sightseeing elevators for added convenience.

Reputed as the place to go for the city’s best electronics, the premises have a truly impressive electronic department that is the envy of all other department stores in the region. The latest video games and music related accessories are hot pick items in this area where audio gear and CDs are also available at more than affordable prices.

The clothing and apparel stores in the mall are also frequented by seasoned shoppers, as the mall stocks everything that’s in vogue in its stylish boutiques outlets.
